Tenzij je de voorbije 24 uur doorbracht in een grot in het Tora Bora gebergte weet je wellicht al dat ‘onze’ Rundskop (Bullhead) genomineerd is voor de Oscar Beste niet-Engelstalige film. Een prachtige prestatie van Michael R. Roskam, Matthias Schoenaerts en de rest van de cast en crew! Ze nemen het in hun categorie onder meer op tegen het felgeprezen Iraanse A Separation, dus makkelijk zal het niet worden, maar wij hopen op het beste. Bij de rest van de genomineerden springen vooral Hugo (11 nominaties) en The Artist (10 nominaties) in het oog, beiden films die teruggaan naar de roots van de cinema, zij de ene vooral inhoudelijk en de andere ook qua vrom. Ik heb eerlijk gezegd geen van beiden gezien dus ik ga mijn oordeel nog niet vellen. Wat wel zeker is, is dat afschuwelijke films zoals The Tree of Life en The Help absoluut géén nominatie verdienden als ‘beste’ film. Bij de acteurs gaat mijn voorkeur uit naar Gary Oldman (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) en Rooney Mara (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo). Bij de technische Oscars hoop ik dat Rise of the Planet of the Apes naar huis gaat met het beeldje voor strafste visuele effecten. De volledige lijst met genomineerden vind je hieronder.
