Amsterdam Heavy is de nieuwste (co-)productie van de rijzende sterren aan het filmproductiefirmament The Content Factory en Funny How Films, die ons eerder al interessante genrefilms voorschotelden zoals Life is an Art en Mad Cow. De officiële persrelease verzekerd ons dat het een verrassend originele en vooral inventieve actieprent zal worden, die het tegenwoordig terug erg populaire wraakgenre volledig op zijn kop zal zetten. De cameras beginnen te rollen vanaf januari 2011 en de hoofdrollen zijn in handen van onder andere Alison Carroll, Jeroen Post, Fajah Lourens, maar zal ook diverse leuke celebritycameo’s bevatten (waaronder zelfs onze eigenste Miss België Cilou Annys!). Zoals u weet steunen we bij Moviepulp altijd graag genrewerk van bij ons en onze Nederlandse buren. We zijn dan ook uitermate benieuwd! Nu maar hopen dat dit geen nieuwe Fighting Fish zal worden…

De officiële (Engelse) synopsis:

“‘Amsterdam Heavy’ is a the action-fueled story of one man’s relentless quest for revenge,
as, against all the odds, he smuggles himself back to his home city, arriving with nothing
but his fists and a burning desire for retribution.

The movie takes us on a roller-coaster journey into the violent, criminal heart of
Amsterdam, with diverse characters, fast set pieces, a streak of dark humor, and a twist
that opens up rich sequel opportunities.

‘Amsterdam Heavy’ will be a surprising and original take on the action genre, with gritty
fight scenes, captured by a dynamic fast-moving camera, looking at one of the world’s
great cities in a new and amazing way.

‘Amsterdam Heavy’ will be propelled by two key ingredients; action and characters. The
film will not only showcase a series of action packed fights, but an array of larger-than-
life, cool characters, throwing punches and spitting out drop-dead one liners as the action
builds to its nail-biting edge-of-your-seat crescendo.”
