Robert Rodriguez gaat zeker een sequel maken op zijn eigen vervolg op de Schwarzenegger-klassieker, Predator. Dat bevestigde hij dit weekend op de Comic Con in San Diego. De studio, 20th Century Fox, is tevreden over de film én de box office recette, en gaf groen licht voor Predators 2. Over het verhaal is nog niets bekend, maar vast staat dat het Predators-universum verder zal uitbreiden. Of Rodriguez deze keer wel zelf in de regiestoel kruipt, noch of Adrien Brody opnieuw de hoofdrol vertolkt is nog niet geweten. “[The studio] said, ‘Let’s do some other ones. What other story ideas do you have?'” Rodriguez tells us. “Because it was like, let’s test out the market with this one. They really wanted it to be pretty contained, pretty scaled-back. They didn’t want to put too many of the ideas into it that we could save for a second one. So we could see what the appetite was, because the bigger movie would actually be what comes following that.
