SYNOPSIS: Ken je die grap van de agent, de zangvogel, de psychopaat en de maffia-prinses? “Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)” is een bizar verhaal verteld door Harley zelf, zoals alleen Harley dat kan. Heel Gotham wordt overhoop gehaald nadat Roman Sionis, de grootste en meest narcistische schurk van de stad, en zijn toegewijde rechterhand Zsasz een prijs op het hoofd van het jonge meisje Cass hebben gezet. Dit leidt ertoe dat de paden van Harley, Huntress, Black Canary en Renee Montoya elkaar kruisen, waarna dit bijzondere viertal met elkaar zal moeten samenwerken om Roman te verslaan.

Huntress & Black Canary gevonden voor Birds of Prey
Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Ruin) heeft haar kompanen gevonden voor een nieuw DC Comics-avontuur in Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Death Proof, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Die Hard 4.0) & Jurnee Smollett-Bell (True Blood). Warner Bros. is immers volop bezig met zijn Phase 2 voor de DC Extended Universe en heeft dit naast Shazam! gevonden in The Joker & de vrouwelijke team-up Birds of Prey. In Birds of Prey zullen de nieuwe dames naast Harley Quinn de rollen vertolken van Black Canary & Huntress. De nieuwe comic book-verfilming moet nog castleden vinden voor Poison Ivy, Black Mask, Cassandra Cain & Renee Montoya, maar naar alle waarschijnlijkheid zal Batgirl niet verschijnen in de film. De stripverfilming door regisseuse Cathy Yan (Dead Pigs) wordt verwacht in februari 2018 in de bioscoop te zien zijn. In hoeverre Birds of Prey een link heeft met andere DC Comics-projecten zoals The Joker, Shazam! of Aquaman is nog niet bekend. Wordt sowieso vervolgd!
