Televisieseries brengen meer en meer goede content op de markt en het wordt dan ook duidelijk dat wij als blog meer moeten focussen op dit marktsegment. De meest prestigieuze beeldjes voor televisieseries, de Emmy’s, zijn gisterenavond uitgereikt door The Television Academy en we delen onderaan jullie de resultaten mee.

Wederom ging HBO’s Game of Thrones lopen met heel wat awards alsook de titel van Beste Dramaserie, maar het zijn opvallend minder beeldjes als de vorige jaren bij de cast van de topserie (ze haalden nog Beste Regie en Beste Script op). Beste Acteur ging naar Mr. Robot’s Rami Malek, terwijl Tatiana Maslany met een Emmy-award ging lopen voor Beste Actrice in een Dramaserie voor Orphan Black. Opvallend is dat ook Ben Mendelsohn een award won voor zijn bijrol van Danny Rayburn in Bloodline & Maggie Smith haalde een Emmy op voor Downton Abbey. Julia Louis-Dreyfus haalde met Veep voor de 8ste keer een Emmy op door Beste Actrice in een Komische serie te winnen en zet daarbij een record. HBO’s Game of Thrones heeft inmiddels ook de meeste Emmy’s geworden in de Amerikaanse geschiedenis (respectievelijk 38 awards). De grote winnaar van de avond was The People v. O.J. Simpson die in de categorie ‘Limited Series & Movies’ aan de haal ging met 9 awards.
