Movie sneuvelde heel wat records in binnen- en buitenland en wist zo al vele families te voorzien van een kleurrijke portie nostalgie. Met de stemmen van topacteurs als Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day en Jack Black komt de wereld van Super Mario tot leven als nooit tevoren.

Super Mario Bros-film haalt 1,69 miljoen euro op aan de Box Office België
MoviePulpers, over de plas breekt de Super Mario Bros Movie potten, want met 375,58 miljoen dollar in zijn eerste week versloeg het zelfs het onverwoestbare Frozen 2 in zijn openingsweek om de succesvolste animatiefilm aller tijden te worden tijdens zijn eerste weekend. Bij ons gingen er zo’n 205.000 bezoekers naar de lokale bioscopen om de nieuwe blockbuster van Mario & Luigi te kijken tijdens het Paasweekend en daarbij overtrof het niet het 2de avontuur van Anna, Elsa & Olaf (alsook niet de Kuifje-animatiefilm), maar wel andere animatiefilms zoals Sherk 3 & Ice Age 3. Met de inflatie is het een beetje raden, maar volgens BoxOfficeMojo.com zitten we aan een opening van 1,85 miljoen dollar of 1,69 miljoen euro. Dat is de grootste opening van 2023 voor een film in Belgische bioscopen na Creed 3 (1 miljoen dollar), Ant-Man & the Wasp Quantumania (795.576 dollar), John Wick 4 (597.314 dollar) & Mummies (558.000 dollar).
