Margot Robbie wordt Barbie

Mattel heeft onlangs een eigen filmproductiestudio opgesteld voor films rond zijn iconisch speelgoed te distribueren en nu is er eindelijk groot nieuws. Niemand minder dan Margot Robbie zal Barbie gaan vertolken in een nieuwe Barbie-film. De actrice van Birds of Prey, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood & I, Tonya zal de hoofdactrice zijn in een script door Hilary Winston, Amy Schumer & Kim Caramele die al een tijdje proberen een film rond de populaire pop uit te brengen. Sony heeft de rechten moeten teruggeven aan Mattel die nu Warner Bros. heeft gekozen als globale partner. Er is nog geen officiële naam als regisseur hoewel door de wandelgangen wel de naam Patty Jenkins van Wonder Woman luidt.
