MoviePulpers, slecht nieuws, niet alleen de natuur heeft het zwaar met de hitte, ook bioscopen kreunen onder het droge & warme weer. In combinatie met de desastreuze COVID-periode, besparen van energiekosten door de Rusland-Oekraïne crisis & het succes van streaming zorgt dit voor een rustige filmzomer en daar lijkt weinig verandering in te komen. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom vloog al naar 2023, maar nu wordt ook Shazam! Fury of the Gods verplaatst naar het voorjaar van 2023. Reden? DC Film beweert meer tijd nodig te hebben om de film af te werken met een post-credits scene voor het nieuwe 10-jaar plan van de DCEU, maar wij zien vooral dat het concurrentie met Avatar: The Way of the Water wil vermijden. Ondanks het succes van Top Gun Maverick ziet Warner Bros Discovery weinig verandering in het bioscoopgedrag van cinefielen & filmliefhebbers en proberen ze de kat nog wat uit de boom te kijken. Dit betekent dat DC Film heel veel druk zet op het nieuwe Black Adam om zijn DCEU nieuw leven in te blazen. Gaat deze slagen in zijn opzet?
